Like, and love

Here is where I am at, right now, me.

'Love' is oxytocin.  Love is limerance.  Love is that emotional rush, that 'you are my everything and my reason for being' primal, animal, meat bond that forms between animals for the sole purpose of survival and perpetuation of being.

'Like' is my choice.  'Like' is based on who I am, my history, my preferences and my predelictions, based on reason and experience.  'Like' is intellectual.  'Like' is WHAT I CHOOSE. 'Like' is based on who I am and my taste.

'Like' is what survives when 'Love' wanes.

'Like' is what keeps me connected to the fellow beings I select, based on what I prefer.

'Like' never dies.

'Like' is what Love takes root in, and the only thing that will make it flourish.

Holy shit I am a profound motherfucker.

  3. I would much rather have someone like me. Love is painful.

  4. Like is a four-letter word!

Oh, wait. This needs some more work.

I don't think I have it backwards. I've never gone into any relationship where I was 'head over heels in loooooove' with someone, where that 'loooooove' didn't wear off over time and leave me with nothing but a stale dried out ham sandwich laying there looking at me. On the other hand, you start out liking someone, maybe the limerance ebbs and flows, but you still feel that preference for them, and thats something you can work with over time. so there.

Scarletblue: And I like you too. You can come play in my treehouse any time! Bring a bucket of rocks and some water balloons.

Gale: Like a lovely lovely pillow made out of 100% chinese silk brocade with a scattering of small embroidered violets, filled with razor blades, that explodes.

LX: So are 'flag' and 'boat'.

  6. I think you're fucking brilliant and you can put that in your like basket or your love basket...whichever you prefer.

  7. I'll put it in the same handbasket we're going to hell in! That way we'll at least have a dried out stale old ham sandwich to chew on while we twirl around in the Circle of Immoderate Lovers.
